-- Weingut: Bastardo grapes (Trousseau) sourced from a vineyard that is 19 years old, located in Sítio do Farrobo, São Jorge, North Coast of the island of Madeira. Vineyards owned by the Reis da Cunha family. The harvest took place on the 6th of September 2022. Selection in the vineyards of 800 kgs of the cleanest and ripest grapes. Maceration of whole bunches and berries carried out in a stainless steel tank for 12 days. Wine bleeding occurred on the 13th day, with the fermentation finishing in a French Oak barrel. The wine then aged in the barrel for 13 months and was bottled without filtration, directly from the barrel, on October 19, 2023. A total of 482 units were bottled, each one numbered. The masses from the maceration were pressed in a basket press. The resulting wine from this pressing finished its fermentation in a 225-liter French Oak barrel. It is currently still aging in the barrel. Slightly reddish color. This wine claret style presents itself delicately and fresh on the nose, with aromas of cherry, sour cherry, field plants, and a light strawberry jelly. Light but quite consistent on the palate, pronounced tannins, fine and fresh acidity, with a very persistent dry finish.
